The Thing Itself: Lesson learned first, able to deal with the actual, to be treasured and not just dealt with. Can defeat a photographer. It gives the real world the opportunity to show the thing itself through the camera lens and can show what in the world is around us.

The Frame: Never fully contained his subject at hand. Emotion and thought should be evoked. Making sure to exclude certain elements to allow other elements of the photo to be evoking.

Time: Develop time can be short or long in duration but is required for all photos. Allows for each part of the time to be described. Measured in a single photo or by a series or photos.

Vantage Point: Allows us to see different and varied vantage points within the photograph. Used at times to allow people to see and be able to experience the variety of things through places unable to be seen or gone too.
